Estimator – Construction & Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB)
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team and play a key role in winning new construction projects. You’ll be responsible for accurately preparing cost estimates, takeoffs, and bid proposals for pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) projects and other construction contracts. Your expertise will help our sales and project teams deliver competitive, profitable bids that align with client expectations and company goals.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and material estimates for PEMB and related construction projects
Review plans, specifications, and RFIs to develop accurate bids and proposals
Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, and Procurement teams to gather necessary pricing data
Prepare bid packages and submit competitive proposals within deadlines
Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for cost-effectiveness and reliability
Maintain and update cost databases and estimate templates
Assist in value engineering and alternative scope evaluations to meet client budgets
Support contract review and change order pricing during project execution
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role, preferably in steel building or Division 13 sectors
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and pricing principles
Proficient with takeoff software, Excel, and estimating tools (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Degree or certification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred, but not required
Work Environment & Schedule
Full-time, onsite position at our Indiana office
Standard business hours, Monday through Friday
Occasional site visits may be required
